چکیده
In Saudi Arabia, more than 335,000 tons of cow manure is produced every year from dairy farming. However, the usually added to agricultural soils as raw or composted manure; significant nitrogen losses occur during storage, handling, and application manure. The recovery ammonia through thermochemical treatments a promising technique obtain concentrated fertilizer reducing byproduct effluents process are characterized by different chemical properties original thus, its impact soil amendments on carbon dynamics unknown. Therefore, 90-day incubation experiment was conducted study these CO2 efflux, organic C, microbial biomass available NH4+, NO3− when soil. addition two types (produced at pH 9 12), (CM), (CMC), biochar (CMB), control were used for comparison. CM resulted in considerable increase compared other treatments. Cow showed lowest efflux. Cumulative effluxes lower CM; this possibly due relatively high C:N ratio effluent. content P, Fe, Cu, Zn, Mn decreased time increased. Soil C treated with (pH 12 7) significantly higher rest control.

Effect of Varying Rates of Organic Amendments on Porosity and Infiltration Rate of Sandy Loam Soil
Infiltration rate and porosity of sandy loam soil amended separately with goatyard manure (GYM) and poultry waste at 30, 50 and 70 tonnes/hectare each were investigated and the results were statistically analyzed using SPSS ver 17 package. Infiltration rates under GYM amendment and poultry waste amendment showed significant difference (p≤0.01), indicating that the variation of infiltration unde...

The quantification of nitrogen (N) supplying capacity of organic amendments applied to a soil is of immense importance to examine synchronization, N release capacity, and fertilizer values of these added materials. The aims of the present study was to determine the potential N mineralization and subsequent nitrification of separate and combined use of poultry manure (PM), wheat straw residues (...

Groundwater contamination is an ever-increasing concern on a national level as well as locally. Increasing amounts of nitrate-nitrogen (NO3-N) being delivered by rivers, including the Mississippi, have resulted in an oxygen-depleted area or hypoxic zone in the Gulf of Mexico. (Turner and Rabalais, 1994b). This nutrient loading has caused nitrogen-limited phytoplankton to bloom. Decom-position o...

متن کاملThe Effect of Land use and Soil Erosion on Soil Organic Carbon and Nitrogen Stock
Soil organic carbon (SOC) is a principal component in soil quality assessment. Knowledge of SOC and total nitrogen (TN) stocks are important keys to understand the role of SOC in the global carbon cycle and, as a result, in the mitigation of global greenhouse effects. SOC and TN stocks are functions of the SOC concentration and the bulk density of the soil that are prone to changes, influe...
